Our HistoryA comprehensive team with a diverse range of expertise within the field of earth science, Continental Placer was founded in 1988 by Senior Geologist, John R. Hellert. The primary focus of the company was the exploration and development of construction sand, stone and gravel in the Northeast.
Through the years the company has expanded its expertise into a nationally recognized firm in all facets of the construction aggregate and industrial mineral industries. Service areas have also expanded to include groundwater supply, environmental management and remediation, and regulatory compliance. Today the company works throughout the United States and abroad from its four regional offices on projects as diverse as a scrap-metal recycling yard cleanup in Arizona to mine ventilation in Malaysia to silica sand mine development in Jordan. Continental Placer’s value is recognized by national and international clients.
